Our Nature Forest Oak rustic brushed & oiled flooring is 150mm wide, has a total thickness of 18mm and comes in random lengths of between 300mm-1500mm, with an average length of 700mm. The floor is constructed like a tradtional hardwood floor out of one piece of timber. Each of the planks has bevelled edges on all four sides resulting in a subtle V-Groove between the planks, adding more depth and dimension along with giving an individual definition to each plank. The rustic grade of this hardwood is a very vibrant colourful floor full of character and excitement. The floor can display heavy grain markings, figuring, mineral streaks, colour variations, sapwood and frequent knots of varying sizes. Knot holes, small cracks and other imperfections are allowed, filled and finished. A steel brush removes the soft grain from the surface layer creating a textured surface which enhances the beauty of the natural grain. Up to four coats of natural oil are applied by rollers and buffed into the top layer permeating the grain. Each coat of oil is then cured under ultra-violet light creating a slight satin sheen on the surface. This finish combines the natural lustre of the oil with a tougher surface finish.
